Being away from school for a long time may change your perception of studying. You’ve probably lost your motivation over the winter break. Suddenly, you find yourself in a pickle, and you don’t know how to go about things anymore!

Fortunately, we have some tips to get you back on the road. Here are some ideas to help you with your study habits.

  1. Change your routine.

You may have gotten used to staying up late, playing video games, and watching movies for hours on end as a result of the break. But since school has started, you’d have to let all that go. It’s time for you to sleep early and engage in leisure during your free time. Schedule some time to study and to do your homework and you'll be there in no time.

  1. Eat a hearty breakfast.

Breakfast helps improve your cognitive function throughout the day as it keeps you alert. An empty stomach will distract you when you’re at school and not having enough nutrients in the morning will affect your concentration and in turn, your performance.

  1. Study at different locations.

It can be monotonous to keep staying in one particular area when studying. You really need to move around. Get out of your room and study somewhere else, like your living or dining area. Or how about you go out of the house and get the job done in some coffee shop? How about in your local diner? Studying at different places can make you more productive!

  1. Take down notes you can actually comprehend in the future.

Ever taken down notes, only to scratch your head in confusion once you get home to try and review them? We’ve all been there. As you’re back in school, organize your note-taking habits. Spell out every word, make every sentence as coherent as you can, and avoid abbreviating. Also, make sure you arrange your notes for specific subjects properly. Here are some tips on taking notes.

  1. Get help.

There’s really no shame in asking someone to help you out in your study habits. Ask your parents or your older siblings. They’d be more than willing to share tips and ideas for you to be able to study well. You’d be able to be free from your winter break habits with their help.
